Lessons

Lessons are a place for you to start building out your actual course material. You can include text, images, video, audio, PDFs and virtually any other type of third-party or embeddable content. This section will explain everything you can do with LearnDash lessons—free sample lessons, timers, additional materials, assignments and more.

Global Lesson Settings

First, let’s set some ground rules that apply to all your lessons:

  •  Go to LEARNDASH LMS > LESSONS > SETTINGS
  •  Here you can set up things like lesson categories and tags
  •  These settings will be your default for all lessons, saving you time later

Configuring Lesson Access:

Now, let’s decide who gets to see what and when:

  •  Want to give a sneak peek? Set up some free sample lessons
  •  Like to keep students on their toes? Try drip-feeding content
  •  Need to schedule lessons for a specific date? You can do that too.

Display & Content Settings:

This is where you can really customize each lesson:

  • Add extra materials like PDFs or links
  •  Set up video progression to make sure students watch the whole video
  •  Allow students to upload assignments
  •  Add a timer to keep students focused

 Creating Lesson Content:

Here’s where you get to be creative:

  • Add text, images, videos – whatever helps explain your topic
  • Embed interactive content to keep things engaging
  • Don’t be afraid to mix it up – variety keeps students interested!

Remember, you’re not limited to just lessons. You can add topics within lessons for more detail, or group lessons into sections to organize your course better. And don’t forget about quizzes – they’re a great way to check understanding.
